Reflections on Quiet Time

I've waited all my life to be here face to face
I never knew that I could feel this kind of grace
The way You showed me that Your love has washed me clean
Could never be erased it lives inside of me

Photobucket

Take me to that secret place
Where I can only see Your face
And nothing else will ever feel this way

You take away my guilty stains
The things I've done that I can't change
It's only by the power of Your name

I stand here in this place
See the glory on Your face
I'm taken by the wonder of Your name

Photobucket

I'm desperate for Your touch
Never needed it so much
'Cos all I want is You

When all the things around me have fallen to the ground
I'm always thankful for the love in You I've found

Choices: Light or Darkness?

How do you feel about hidden things? Secret things?
Those dark places in your heart that you hide away?
When you come to know Jesus, He can light up those dark places. In fact, He will whether you like it or not!
That's right, he will expose the nasty things inside of you. But remember, He does it because He loves you!
So what will you choose? Will you walk in the light, or in the darkness?
Will you humbly come before God and give Him everything in your heart, or will you arrogantly shun His correction?
If you do, you're in for an uncomfortable exposure!

Choices: Amazement or Amusement?

Hebrews 12:28-29
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

How does Church affect you? Are you amazed by God or simply amused by His presence?

My Head is a Tank

My head is a big water tank.
It has many pipes going into it, the main ones are my eyes and ears.
The water that fills the tank is my drinking supply.
If rubbish goes into my water, it becomes polluted and my life is poisoned.
If I avoid junk and promptly filter anything that accidentally gets through, my mind runs over with Living Water.
You see, the Word of God teaches us how to have a clean mind - by obeying God's commands.
Jesus said, "Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." (John 7:38)
Don't let the world contaminate your tank. Take up the challenge: is what you are reading, looking at or listening to of God?
If not, you had better do a contamination test, because things of the world are often poisonous!

If you plant apple seeds you will get an apple tree.
Your mind is the same.
If you plant seeds of sexual immorality, your thoughts and then consequently your life will bear those fruits.
If you plant words of discouragement, criticism and anger you will bear those fruits.
We live in a society that tells us, "look, just don't touch."
But the truth is, to look at something is to touch it with your mind, which is a part of your soul.
Guard your heart with ALL diligence. This is a commandment, not a suggestion.
And following God's commandments always reaps a reward. Happy

Take A Stand

"There is a tremendous contrast between the politically correct censoriousness which now hampers discussion of Islam in Australia, however extreme some of its manifestations may be and the misrepresentation and, often, abuse which the normal Australians at Hillsong have to endure." - The Daily Telegraph.

I am angry.

I am angry that if there is a Muslim or Buddhist person in one of my classes, everybody walks on eggshells, however, when I defend Hillsong (or any other) Church I am greeted with scoffing and mockery. I was humiliated in one of my tutorials by my own tutor, who verbally attacked me regarding Hillsong Church. I chose to step down, as I was seething inwardly and didn't want to say something I'd later regret - but MAKE NO MISTAKE - I will defend the Bride of Christ to the death. I am in Her, I am a part of Her - therefore how can I not defend Her?

The time is coming where no-one outside the Church will respect Her. The Earth will be divided - sheep on one side and goats on the other. And as the Church we must band together in the name of Jesus Christ, and stand firm against the ways of the World. For friendship with the World is enmity with Christ, and if we do not stand for righteousness, who will?

We must grab hold of the True Love Christ has taught us, and run with it in hand. We must show Godliness. We must show righteousness. We must love as Christ first loved us. It is the only way we will be a contrasting light in the darkness of this world.

Philippians 2:12-16 (Amplified Bible)
12Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my suggestions], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).

13[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.

14Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and [e]questioning and doubting [among yourselves],

15That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guiltless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world,

16Holding out [to it] and offering [to all men] the Word of Life, so that in the day of Christ I may have something of which exultantly to rejoice and glory in that I did not run my race in vain or spend my labor to no purpose.

The true Church, the ones who rise up in Spirit and in Truth, must dispel the darkness and walk in light. We cannot mumble, look at our shoelaces and twiddle our thumbs while the World screams lies into our faces. We must take hold of that authority which Christ DIED to give us! Live above complacency. Remember who really has the victory, and stand strong, no matter what others may do or say.

Sovereign God

God always finds a way!

It's so easy to get caught up in fear and confusion, wondering how on earth God will outwork His plan when so few are willing to submit to Him!
But remember, it was God who hardened Pharaoh's heart towards the Israelites. Many plagues had to pass through Egypt before Moses finally had his breakthrough, and freedom followed.
Even though it seemed as though Pharaoh would never give in to Moses' pleas for freedom, God was in control the whole time!
Trust in God, He will use others to bless you and challenge you, whether they like it or not! No matter what goes on around us, when we are trusting in God we can be the eye of the storm - at perfect peace no matter what goes on around us. You would be amazed at how powerful a witness this kind of faith and peace is to and unbeliever! (Or as I prefer to say, "pre-believer!")
So stand firm, and don't be afraid to ask for help. Happy

Lost Without You

The Bible is more than just a book, it's a road map to life.
By following the example of Jesus Christ, we can walk what would otherwise be a dark and difficult road.
The Psalmist said, "Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path".
It lights our way and guides our journey.
Don't underestimate the power of the Word!

Trust

Prov 3:5 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding...
We trust in our cars, we trust in the people that manufacture the machinery that our lives rely on, we trust in our seatbelts...
... so why do we struggle so much when it comes to trusting God?
He has your best interests at heart, and He knows you better than anyone else.
Have faith in Him and He'll sort it all out.
Have a cup of tea, take a deep breath, and relax; He won't let you down!

What if you had no more excuses?

I don't usually post vids, I find them quite annoying on other people's pages, but this made my heart swell.
Let the whole thing load, and watch the full ten minutes.
You won't regret it. Happy

What Does Love Look Like?

In on of my classes we're studying images - what they represent and how we interpret them.
An example used by my lecturer was representations of love - they are soft and pretty; roses, hearts, teddy bears...
But God does things differently to us.
An unusual representation, but by far the best picture of TRUE love, is Jesus on the cross.

This. to me, is the penultimate symbol of love.
Harsh, ugly, confronting, but to me there is nothing more beautiful.
Isaiah 55:8-9
"'My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,' says the Lord. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts."
